How many of these were produced? An amazingly rare ceremonial keel-laying rivet for the ss United States. Given to VIPs, it was made by the Newport News Shipbuilding Co. and marked with the ship’s hull number 488 and the date of the keel laying. In mint condition and chrome plated. Measures about 6″ long and 2.5″ wide. Intended to be your most interesting paperweight, it still serves its purpose of being one of the finest items in your Big U collection. AC
