Product Description
Today, most ships are floated out of dry dock and not launched as typically was done back in the day of the grand liners. One of the first to touch the water in this more modern way was the ss United States. Here she is being floated out of her dry dock for the first time. Noted on the back is “Taken from top of crane at dockside Newport News T. Costa”. The ship is gleaming in a fresh coat of paint aside from what appears to be a type of primer on all her upper decks. In excellent condition with one slight crease at lower left corner.
