Abstract of log from the famous ss United States. This is for voyage 71 westbound on August 25, 1955. Already holding the speed record and with no need to prove herself with a high-fuel-consuming crossing, she still beat every ship on the ocean, averaging over 30 knots. The front shows where attached to an album page.
Oddly, 2 styles of abstracts were made for the ship. One was the normal card type, and this other type of folded, smaller card. Anyone know why they did two types?
