When I was a boy, my grandparents (both sets) had a plastic dispenser hanging in their bath room that held waxed-paper “Dixie Cups.”  I suppose this was considered the height of modernity in the 1950s and 1960s.  So modern, in fact, that the ss United States also had these, but in a much larger format!  For ice.  Just imagine the dispenser for these cups!  2 types apparently were used, and I have even seen one made by Dixie Cup company.  This one is made by Lilly – Tulip company and is branded “Nestright.”  Of all the quirky and unusual delivery devices for parties, this one really takes the cake.  Although I, for one, would welcome a return to waxed paper for items that need to be disposable, rather than the flood of single-use plastic we have today.  In very good condition and measures about 8″ tall and almost 9″ across at the top.  This item was removed from the Big Ship by a manager for the Untied States Lines, whose collection I recently bought.
