A pair of what I consider the best chairs put on the greatest ship America ever produced.  Great two-tone leather in orange and dark brown.  Just think of all the famous people who sat in these chairs enjoying a drink, a smoke, and cards in convivial company while the fastest ship in the world raced across the Atlantic.  Did the Duke of Windsor enjoy a pre-dinner brandy in one of these chairs?  What about another Duke, John Wayne?  Quite likely.  The leather is still soft and supple, and the chairs are extremely comfortable.  Typical wear to the 60-year-old leather particularly on the arms.  One chair has some leather chipping at the edges.  This can be restored or left as is as part of their history.  They are lovely, and the age issues don’t detract in my mind.  Still sturdy and strong.  They measure about 33” tall x 25” deep x 23” wide.

Simple in its elegance, this cocktail/card table from the ss United States is black with anodized aluminum trim.  Sporting feet added at the time of the ship’s auction in 1984 to make it useable, it is ready to be used in your home.  The table has beautiful markings underneath letting you know where it comes from.  As you can see, it makes a perfect setup with the pair of chairs available.  Measures about 30” in diameter and 32” tall so fits nicely in any size home.
