Product Description
An amazing chair from a first-class suite on board the world’s fastest liner, the ss United States. Unholstered in an off-white leather, this chair is fully marked on the bottom with its original location on board. This comes from the suite on the opposite side of the ship from the famous Duck Suite. In great condition and ready to take pride of place in your Big U collection. As a well-known memorabilia dealer used to say: “rare as hen’s teeth.” Furniture from any suite on board the ssUS is certainly that! Not sure if it has been reupholstered, but if it has, it was extremely well done.
Now I have a question for you guys about the markings on the bottom of the chair. On the hundreds of chairs I have seen from the ss United States, there is frequently a five-digit number on the bottom. On this chair it is 47-617. I have some ideas, but I wonder if anyone knows for sure what this number means?
