Product Description
A lovely first-class dining room chair from the ss United States. Still in its original upholstery, this chair was purchased at the 1984 auction by Dr. Sarah Forbes (owner of the Windmill Point Restaurant in Kitty Hawk, NC) along with hundred and hundreds of other items. After she died, I was asked to help clean out her storage units. Her collection, while vast, was often in very poor condition after having been stored for so many decades.
There were about three dozen dining room chairs in storage that were not being used at her restaurant so I carefully went through them all picking out the best ones that had not been damaged from the years of storage. These available chairs were sold by me many years ago and have come back to Luxury Liner Row. All the ones at Windmill Point are now in the collection of the Mariners’ Museum. Two are available, and price is per chair. In very good condition with general wear from use, but still in the original USL fabric. Could use a good cleaning. I’ve cleaned a few pieces for my collection, and they look amazing.
