Anyone out there know who Marine Technologies and Brokerage Corp is/was? I am not sure if they were selling items on behalf of Guernsey’s or selling items on behalf of the ships owners after the auction. Alternatively they might have been major bidders and were selling on their own account. The long and fascinating story of the ss United States continues to yield strange new details. I have often heard the prices at the auction were not low and these prices see to bear that out. $200 for an eagle plate in the 1980s? That sounds like Schultz pricing.
