Product Description
What an amazing piece of history! A table from the first-class Ballroom of the ss United States. Fully marked on the bottom with a metal strip giving its location on the vessel. Gold-colored legs with a glass top, the underside of which had been painted black. Because of the age of the paint (1969 at the latest!), there is some cracking to the paint that could be stabilized with the right care. One clip is missing that holds the glass top on although it is still firmly attached. The table needs nothing done to be used and loved as the condition issues are slight enough to only give it character. Who knows? Maybe the Duchess of Windsor sat at this very table and had cocktails….
A stupendous piece from one of her iconic public rooms. Measures 37″ long x 20″ wide x 20″ tall. I will build a custom crate for this item to ensure ease of shipment.
