In the 1970s in what was a good idea (but a long shot that did not really pay off), a someone I know of wrote to some famous transatlantic passengers (movie stars, politicians, etc.) and asked if they had anything of interest from the great post-war liners.  One star responded that the crossing was not approached with anticipation since it was just a means of transportation — the rose glasses only come after there are no more liners! — and the crossings were quick so it was all over quite fast.  His major memory was drinking too much after dinner and sleeping off the late night in a deck chair where restorative bouillon was served.  This is a traditional double-handled bouillon cup and saucer that would have been used.  Comes from the Dr. Sarah Forbes Collection.  In excellent condition and made by Lamberton.
