Arguably the finest brochure (more like a hard-cover book!) ever created for CGT’s only four stacker. This hardbound entry-into-service brochure sports 36 pages of on-board photos, both interior and exterior, most of which I haven’t seen before elsewhere. They are amazingly, almost startlingly, clear. For a brochure, this one is tops in today’s digital culture if you want to scan it. The paper is slicker, and the images are high quality and will scan well. A book about the France would find a great start with just this brochure.
Examples of the photos include your typical public rooms, but there are also shots of the bridge, turbine starting platform, boiler room, the children’s playroom, and hydrotherapy room. Of course, the book also has the obligatory full-page color center spread of the ship at sea. Readily apparent from the pages of this brochure, is that France was one of the most luxurious liners on the Atlantic. What many people don’t realize is that she was also one of the fastest ships of her time.
In French and in excellent condition with some age foxing and a name written on the cover. Tied with a cord. It is a thrill just to browse the pages of this brochure as I am sure you will agree when it’s in your collection.
