Oh, how I wish we had an inventory giving the exact number of each type of silver item used on board the ss United States. This the pastry tray has to be one of the items not produced in large quantity. Made by International Silver Company and date coded to 1953. Very sturdy construction, and I particularly like the lovely pierced detail around the rim. It is the same piercing detail used on the caviar servers. Imagine the danishes, eclairs, and croissants being offered on this tray to the Duchess of Windsor! An item I have not seen available before. In very good condition with typical use marks and a couple of small dings. Measures about 18″ across by 15″ high”.
