Product Description
A gorgeous and extremely hard-to-find silver fruit bowl from the on-board service of the ss United States. Made by International Silver Company and date coded most interestingly to 1963. It’s not very often that I see larger silver items from the Big U dated to the 1960s. But when the baskets toppled over on rough seas and the handle got wonky, it was time to replace them! Happily, that is not the situation here as the action of the handle is as smooth as butter. Slight use marks in the base. In excellent condition. It measures about 11.25″ across by 8.5″ wide x 7.5″ handle to base.
