Product Description
One of the best things I ever found was a silver, china, and crystal inventory for items used on board the ss United States. It has helped me immensely over the years figuring out what items were actually called, and this is a case in point. It is listed in the inventory as an “escoffier dish.” Whoever would have guessed that name? And what exactly was it used for? These are not at all common. It measures about 6 3/8″ from handle to handle. Made for the United States Lines in 1952 and dating to the maiden voyage of the ss United States. It is in great condition.
