Product Description
Van Ryper. When one thinks of models of ocean liners, this is one name that stands out. This is a Van Ryper model of the Dollar Liner ss President Hoover of 1930. The ship and line had a storied history. She was accidentally bombed in August, 1937, and in November of that year ran aground during a typhoon near Taiwan in 1937 and was declared a total loss. The bigger story was the demise of the Dollar Line itself and the subsequent creation of American President Line. I just like the name and the $ logo. In excellent condition measuring about 9.5″ long.
