Product Description
Another one of those “Wow” items! A tea tray in a pattern used on board Cunarders in the pre-World War I period. This is a part of the tea set from ships like Lusitania and Mauretania and is probably one of the prettiest patterns Cunard ever used. In all my years of research, I have only seen this pattern in one photo on board Mauretania and that was in one of her first-class pantries. Extremely difficult to find. A single piece of this pattern was also recovered from the wreck of the RMS Carpathia back in 2007.
Cup has no chips, cracks, or crazing but the inside is a bit stained. The cup is marked “souvenir.” The tray has a few small hairlines and overall crazing with some discoloration in a few spots around the edges. This is not marked “souvenir” and is an in-service piece.
