Product Description
How do I sum up the event that I consider to be without doubt the biggest in Cunard’s post-war period? RMS Caronia’s coronation cruise of 1953 is really a high water mark in ocean going cruising. Perhaps only being equaled or topped by ss Normandie’s little Rio jaunts in the late 1930s. I’d love to go on a coronation cruise in 2024 that is even partially the equal of Caronia’s. So I will just let this superb Coronation Cruise passenger list speak for itself. This is Cunard’s finest passenger list cover and is in exquisite royal purple flocked velvet. Only a few of these must survive. This is just the fourth that I have had since I began collecting for RMS Caronia nearly 20 years ago. An interesting tidbit is that a passenger on this trip was Mrs. JD Wrather (Bonita Granville Wrather), whose husband’s company later went on in the early 1980’s to manage the Queen Mary in Long Beach. This list is in very good condition and is tied with a silk cord.
