Absolutely lovely silver bread dish from the on-board service of CGT’s Normandie. Ball-shaped handles as used in first class on the French Line’s greatest ship. These handles were used on the most important pieces of silver; thus they are highly valued by collectors. Only the second one I have ever had. Measures about 12.5″ across. Made by Christofle. JF
