Souvenir spoon for the record-breaking HAPAG liner Deutschland. With a portrait of the four-funneled liner in the bowl, this spoon has an unusual handle consisting of a flower and leaves. Can’t say I’ve seen one like this before. The Deutschland became the cruise liner Viktoria Luise and later the emigrant carrier Hansa. She was finally scrapped in 1925. Spoon measures about 4.5″ in length. Sterling silver and likely over 110 years old.
