Product Description
Cunard Line paper from the pre-WWI period is getting so scarce. But 1912 paper showing RMS Carpathia’s most-significant voyage leaving New York April 11, 1912, is unheard of. She was due back in New York City on May 21, but as we all know, the trip was interrupted, and she returned with Titanic’s survivors on April 18 instead. Looks like the trip in first class cost about 18 pounds…. Or say $90 in US money. Not bad for a voyage that was over a month long. First class on Titanic for 7 days was a minimum of $125 by comparison although there was no comparison in the two ships’ size, speed or accommodation. Some slight wear at folds. And with interesting views of first class on various ships including Lusitania and Mauretania, etc. Really an asset to any collection–Cunard Line or White Star or Titanic.
