Product Description
In the long and storied history of Cunard Line cruises, the Coronation Cruise of 1953 stands out as streets and streets ahead of any other. The cruise lasted nearly 30 days, and it was all done in a grand style with the culmination being preferred transportation, meals, and seating to see the new Queen on the coronation parade route. This seating would have been very desirable as it wasn’t just in a good location at the corner of Hyde Park. It was also fully covered which was wonderful considering the large amount of rain that day. This menu is the culmination of that cruise and, as such, reads as elaborately as any Cunard menu can. Beluga Caviar, Turtle soup, Dover Sole, and something called Peach Balmoral for desert, which sounds very intriguing. Date 31 May 1953 and tied with a silk cord, etc. In very nice condition with some wear to the raised image of Her Majesty. I have only ever seen one other, and I own it.
