Product Description

Poor Aurania.  She never entered service for Cunard and was used as a transport for less than a year when torpedoed by the German U-Boat UB-67 during World War I.  Although taken in tow, she eventually grounded on the Isle of Mull and was declared a total loss.  There has been some salvage work done on the wreck over the years, and this fork is one of the pieces that was recovered in 1980.  Made by Elkington and dated coded to 1900, which is interesting and proves that Cunard recycled silverware throughout the fleet.  As you know, Aurania was not built until 1916!  Complete with a Cunard logo.  A rare find!
