Product Description
How cool to have a certificate of discharge from the White Star Liner ss Nomadic? Well, it’s not the tender Nomadic you are thinking of but still a cool piece! This is from the 1890s White Star Line cattle carrier ss Nomadic. As carting cattle eastbound in steerage quarters was becoming passé by 1890, White Star built a set of ships to haul cows only. This was removed from a gum book as these might date to a time before a crewman toted around his own small discharge booklet. Voyage from October, 1898. Highly unusual to find any discharge certificates at all, especially for 19th Century White Star ships.
