Product Description

Some excellent research by White Star china historian Russ Upholster has revealed that the name of this pattern (often inaccurately called “Wisteria” or “Gothic Arch”) is actually “Crown.”  It’s a fitting name because of the 20 turquoise “crowns” around the plate.

Made of fine-bone china.  It seems White Star Line started using this pattern in 1889 with the introduction of the RMS Majestic, which entered service that year.  Makes a VERY nice example to display with your White Star Line collection.  Measures about 9″ in diameter.  Very good condition with no wear to the gold leaf and slight wear to brown tendrils.

Want to know something interesting.  No first-class dinner plates have ever been recovered from the wreck of Titanic.  They must be down there but none have been brought up.  JF
