Product Description
This pattern, dating to the 1880’s, is a tough one to acquire. What makes this one especially intriguing is that it was recovered from the wreck of the RMS Oregon, which foundered after a collision off Fire Island in 1886. In very good condition considering its time under water, it has a couple of small chips, a tight crack, and some crazing. All in all in great shape. Most of the pieces of this pattern that I have had from the Oregon have their inner maroon rim decoration washed off. Even many of the non-salvaged pieces have this same type of wear that is luckily not the case for this one. This will be a crowning item for your Cunard collection. Not only a highly attractive and sought-after pattern from the 19th Century but also something from a famous sunken Cunarder. JF
