Product Description
A superb mahogany waste basket from the White Star Line Britannic of 1930. Marked on the base “Brit A52,” this comes from one of the better first-class cabins on board — a double stateroom with an attached bath. See deck plan. A lovely mahogany veneer that in the right light appears to have light and dark stripes running vertically. Identical to ones that are from the RMS Queen Mary. RMS Britannic had an extensive remodel in 1947 and was brought up to Queen Mary standards in interior decor. In very good condition, the metal liner is not present and with some nicks and dings to the veneer, but that is to be expected after all these decades of use. Joints are tight and strong, and it needs no work and could be put right to use in your home. Measures about 10¾” tall x 9” square. One doesn’t usually see any fittings or furniture for this famous, long-serving White Star liner.
