Product Description
Two very rare sailing schedules and rate sheets for the reincarnation of Cunard’s RMS Caronia. After her sale to Universal Cruise Line, the Green Goddess was renamed Caribia (because only two letters in her name had to replaced!). She was then supposed to sail on luxurious voyages throughout the Caribbean in 1969 and beyond. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. On her second voyage under her new owner, the ship’s electrical board exploded stranding the ship and leaving her powerless at sea. After being towed back to New York, she was permanently laid up for many years and then sold to the breakers, eventually running aground a the entrance to Apra Harbor in Guam. Also comes with a letter sent by the Vice President of Universal Cruise Line to a prospective cruiser. If only their plan had worked, one wonders how long she would have stayed in service. JF
