Product Description
From time to time I have had oak cigarette boxes from the famous record breaking RMS Mauretania. Long Cunard’s record breaker the liner was rightly famous worldwide. This was true even when she was being scraped as many items were made from her souvenirs. One can admire how well recycled the ship was. Lots of variations in style for these boxes come to light but this is a more interesting example with a hand carved Cunard Line house flag on the lid. Inside it is engraved as “Oak from the Mauretania”. I would say fantastic condition aside from a crack in the base due to age. This is not very noticeable when the box is on display. I recommend using to keep your cruise ship cabin cards as I do with my own Mauretania box. AC
