The full monty. “Rejoicing card?” “The map of festivities.” All the translations into English fail to convey the humor and luxury of the Arronet’s inviting the Pirnie’s to the “slums” for a private party on the ss Normandie in November, 1936. The menu is off the charts, of course. Caviar, Filet of Sole, Pigeon, Asparagus (my favorite vegetable), Foie Gras, Filet Mignon, and other things, some of which I haven’t had, but I am sure being on Normandie were simply sublime. You won’t regret owning this. Some staining likely from the meal itself!
