Never seen one of these before. Commodore’s Dinner menu for the final westbound transatlantic of RMS Queen Elizabeth. Dated October 27, 1968, this is perhaps one of the few times the new Queen Elizabeth 2 was referenced by name in a document on the old Queen Elizabeth.
What a dinner it was too! I’d like to have some of the cornets of smoked salmon and beluga caviar. Among the other offerings are turtle soup, Dover sole, filet mignon, and asparagus spears mousseline. This menu is so elaborate it reminds me of RMS Titanic’s last first-class meal 56 years before. Tied with a silk cord and in very good condition.
