One of the most beautiful Art Deco rooms to ever go to sea, the stunning ballroom of RMS Queen Mary didn’t make the cut in the post-war refit when Cunard “Queen Elizabethed” the fleet. Some of it was used to create the new Cinema and to add some air conditioning machinery. What was left was turned into a small dancing area off the Long Gallery. In this image, however, it is seen in its original 1936 glory. This original photo by Stewart Bale is in excellent condition with his stamp on the back and measures about 8″ x 10″.
