Oh, how we would all love to use this ticket, eh? An unused boarding pass issued to accompany passengers on board the fabulous ss Normandie of the French Line. According to the lady I got this from, it belonged to her mother, who sailed on the ship in 1936. Her mother was studying languages and spent some time in France and Germany, attending the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. On board Normandie, she met and got to know a purser. In a letter home dated July 5, 1936, she wrote: “We had a cute officer down for lunch from Tourist yesterday…then [I] went up…in the evening…with Guy Tournyol du Clos, the Purser.”
Great backstory to what looks like a simple pass! In excellent condition.
