Van Ryper started his ship-modeling business in 1933 in Martha’s Vineyard. The idea was straight forward — make handmade models in a very recognizable style. The name is famous, and the models are outstanding. But being 80-90 years old now, they are quite rare. This is a Van Ryper model of CGT’s Lafayette of 1930. It is in excellent condition. The model was cherished by a collector all these years, and I was fortunate enough to buy his entire collection. Measures about 9″ long.
