In the 1930’s, quite a number of ships were doing world cruises, but Canadian Pacific’s Empress of Britain outshined them. I have always said that she would have been the best ship to go around the world on, not only for her size but her luxury as well. She set the standard for decades to come.
This brochure is for her first world cruise in 1931-1932. Lasting 128 days, the ship went to places that most people had never even heard of let alone visited. I think one of the best things about the cruise is that she stayed in many ports for days on end, giving the passengers a chance to really see the sites. The brochure was printed before the ship was completed so all the images of the ship are renderings. Nine renderings total, one exterior and eight interior–most of which I have never seen before. Runs 64 pages and in great condition with some bumped corners on the cover. The interior of the brochure is perfect.
