Product Description

The Conte Biancamano was, as you might know, built in Scotland.  I can see the Scottish styling in the plates of her stern even to the last of her service (her bow was rebuilt).  She was lovely and had a long service life.  This is the brochure produced for her triumphant return to service in 1948 as one of the first ships for a resurgant Italian Line.  The best Italian artists participated in her massive overhaul.  Interestingly, the bridge, some first-class cabins, and a public room were sliced off intact when she was scrapped, and they are preserved at the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci in Milan. This place is definitely on my spots to visit!  Some dog earing to corners and chipping to cover.
