Product Description
Some excellent research by White Star china historian Russ Upholster has revealed that the name of this pattern (often inaccurately called “Wisteria” or “Gothic Arch”) is actually “Crown.” It’s a fitting name because of the 20 turquoise “crowns” around the plate.
Made of fine-bone china and dated August, 1905. It seems White Star Line started using this pattern in 1889 with the introduction of the RMS Majestic, which entered service that year. Makes a VERY nice example to display with your White Star Line collection. Marked with the date and the typical Stoniers marks. Measures about 9″ in diameter. Very good condition with no wear to the gold leaf and one slight hairline in the middle that is barely noticeable.
