One of the rarest 20th Century Cunard patterns that you can find! An unusual metalized pattern used for VIP’s on board the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth in the finest suites. The archival shows the pattern in use in one of the suites on board the Queen Elizabeth. On the reverse, it is marked “Tuscan China Metallised, Cunard White Star, Stoniers, Liverpool.” The heavy real gold on the china is just amazing. It is very luxurious. Measures just under 8.5″ in diameter. 1″ hairline on the back that is not visible from the front.
This comes from the collection of Ron Johnson, who worked for Cunard from 1926 until 1971, retiring as their Manager of Operations in New York. I recently bought his entire collection, which will appear on Luxury Liner Row over the coming months.
