Crescent-shaped salad dish in the well-known delft pattern, made famous by its use in second-class on Titanic. There might have been some IMM cost savings involved in ordering china and silver for Red and White Star as they used many of the same patterns. Mint condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Measures 8¼” across. Made by Mintons with Red Star Line on the back.
As an aside, this shape of china is sometimes referred to as a “bone dish.” I have seen archivals showing these in use as salad dishes on several different lines. I am confident this type of china was used for salad and not for bones.
