Product Description

I’m proud to offer one of the rarest Cunard china items I’ve ever had on the site.  Exceptionally rare platter in the earliest verified Cunard pattern.   This dates to the 1840’s or 1850’s.  Back marked “British & North American Royal Mail Steam Packets,” which was the official corporate name for Cunard until it became a publicly traded company in the 1870’s.  No chips or cracks.  There is some crazing on the back, but considering the piece is at least 160 years old, who cares?

Measures 9¼” x 8”.  It is so exceedingly rare that years will go by before you see another piece at any price.  Who knows?  This could have seen service on the Britannia.  What a centerpiece for your collection!
